More than 2,000 shippers provide insight to 2016 challenges and 2017 strategies
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (January 9, 2017) – Averitt Express has released the results from its second annual State of The North American Supply Chain Survey. Nearly 2,200 shippers from a wide variety of industries throughout North America participated in the survey, which was conducted in late 2016.
The transportation and supply chain solutions provider asked participants a series of questions to identify the top challenges that shippers faced in 2016. They also asked shippers what they believed 2017 would look like in terms of business growth and supply chain strategy.
Some of the questions asked in the survey included:
- Are businesses predicting an increase or decrease in shipments in 2017?
- Were there issues with truckload capacity in 2016, and did those issues lead to more delays in 2016 compared to 2015?
- How do shippers expect the new White House administration’s stance on foreign trade policies to impact their supply chain in 2017?
After analyzing the data, the results were compiled into a whitepaper that is available to download for free on Averitt’s website. Shippers will find the whitepaper to be a valuable resource in helping to plan the year ahead with regard to transportation and supply chain strategy.
“We appreciate the feedback we received from shippers,” said Phil Pierce, Averitt’s executive vice president of sales and marketing. “Having a better understanding of shippers’ needs and challenges will allow us to provide better support in key areas that the survey identified.”
