COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 13, 2012) — National Driver Appreciation Week is September 16-22, and Averitt Express is celebrating the annual, nationwide event by honoring its drivers who have achieved 20 or more years of safe driving with Averitt.
Averitt has nearly 250 associates who have accumulated at least 20 years of safe driving.
“Professional drivers face a number of challenges, whether they’re driving across the country or around town,” said Gary Sasser, Averitt’s president and CEO. “Our team has a couple hundred who have driven accident-free for 20 years, and several dozen with more than 25 years! This is a testament to the type of associates who make up Averitt: safety-conscious drivers who take pride in being accident-free.”

- 243 drivers with 20+ years of safe driving
- 37 drivers with 25+ years of safe driving
- 8 drivers with 30+ years of safe driving
- 5,295 years of safe driving represented by these drivers alone
“As we celebrate National Driver Appreciation Week next week, we salute this special group of associates,” continued Sasser. “We thank them for everything they do to make sure ’Our Driving Concern Is Safety!’”
