COOKEVILLE, Tenn (February 18, 2014) — For the second straight year, Averitt has been recognized for developing creative transportation solutions for its customers with an Alliance Award. World Trade 100 magazine, a leading transportation industry publication, and SMC3, an industry trade association, have honored Averitt, PITT OHIO, The Reliance Network, and Toshiba America Business Solutions for developing and implementing creative and cost-saving logistics processes.
The Alliance awards program recognizes collaborations in high-performing supply chains that are driving results. Attention is focused on why and how the alliance was formed, the roles of the various partners, and the results attained by the close partnership and cooperation represented by the alliance.
Using pool distribution and shipment consolidation, Averitt and PITT OHIO helped reduce Toshiba’s transportation costs by 25 percent while also eliminating multiple same-day deliveries.
“We’re honored to be recognized with back-to-back Alliance awards,” said Phil Pierce, Averitt’s vice president of sales and marketing. “We’ve been fortunate to partner with great customers like Toshiba who are open to exploring flexible, innovative options when it comes to developing transportation solutions. The results have been outstanding, and weâre excited to continue developing these types of partnerships with our customers.”
