COOKEVILLE, Tenn (April 11, 2014) — In just three short years, Averitt Express has gone from being a new carrier for Dick’s Sporting Goods to earning the national retailer’s 2013 Gold Award in the less-than-truckload (LTL) category.

Averitt was recognized with the honor during the 2nd Annual Dick’s Sporting Goods Logistics Conference in Pittsburgh, Pa. Averitt was the only LTL carrier to receive an award.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn (February 25, 2014) — Make it a threepeat for Averitt Express. The transportation provider was named Walmart’s LTL Regional Carrier of the Year for the third-straight year.

This is also the fourth time in six years that Averitt has been recognized by the retailer. In addition to the three regional carrier awards, Averitt also earned the 2008 Rising Star Award from Walmart.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn (December 4, 2013) — Averitt Express recently honored associate Jackie Moorehead for 35 years of service to the company.

Currently serving as a truckload fleet manager, Moorehead has played several roles during his time at Averitt, beginning his career as a part-time billing clerk. He has also served as Nashville’s service center director and corporate director of loss prevention, claims, security and safety.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn (December 4, 2013) — Averitt Express recently honored associate George Johnson of Cookeville for his 30 years of service to the company.

Johnson began his career at Averitt as comptroller, and has served as executive vice president of finance and CFO since 1986. He is counted among the more than 750 Averitt associates who make up the company’s “Over 20 Team,” an exclusive group of associates who have served 20 or more years with Averitt.
