“Events like the Averitt 5K are a great way to help promote wellness within our team,” said Gary Sasser, Averitt’s president and CEO. “I’m thrilled to see not only our associates participating, but their families as well. We want our entire Averitt family to live healthier, longer lives.”
The Averitt 5K is one element of Averitt’s robust health and wellness program. In 2010, Averitt opened an on-site wellness center where associates receive many of the same services found at a primary care physician (with no office visit charge if covered under Averitt’s health insurance), as well as health coaching and prescription medication fulfillment. Also found on Averitt’s corporate campus is a full-service fitness center that houses state-of-the-art exercise equipment and provides popular training classes like CrossFit and spinning.
